Professionally trained at an award-winning facility in Chandler, Arizona, Oliver has mastered obedience with remarkable precision. He walks on a leash like an expert, retrieves with unwavering reliability, and shows off-leash skills. His gentle soul, tempered bark, and unwavering presence create a deep connection that words can barely capture.


Oliver is more than just our beloved dog—he is the heart of our mission. As our mascot, he stands for the profound love and loyalty that defines the bond between dogs and their humans. The Heart Behind Best Furiend, Hand in Paw

Best Furiend, Hand in Paw was born from a deep love for storytelling and an unwavering devotion to the remarkable bond between people and their dogs. Created by Christy Brimmer and Naked with Slippers Publishing, this heartfelt project celebrates the incredible personalities and treasured memories of our beloved best furiends.

Christy’s connection to animals began in childhood, shaped by the companionship of two Irish Setters, Murphy and Rusty, and her cherished sheepdog-terrier mix, Pokey Jo—a name so meaningful it became part of her own, Christy Jo. Later, Moody, a loyal and steadfast Akita, entered Christy’s life and became the first dog she raised outside of her family home. Moody’s presence was more than companionship—it was a foundation for a lifetime of love and reflection. Their bond deepened Christy’s passion for storytelling, inspiring her desire to capture the spirit, milestones, and memories that make every dog’s story unforgettable. Best Furiend, Hand in Paw became her dream—a way to ensure Moody could live furever, through the stories that will never fade.

Now living in Arizona with her daughter and Oliver (ME!), Christy continues to craft narratives that celebrate the most meaningful relationships in life. From her earliest days as an elementary school writer, she has been drawn to non-fiction storytelling, finding beauty in preserving real experiences, emotions, and the legacies we hold dear.

Beyond writing, Christy embraces creativity in all its forms—quilting, painting, and hiking, each offering a new way to express and reflect on life’s joys. She finds inspiration in music from all genres and decades, letting every rhythm shape her creative spirit. She also has a deep fascination with true crime podcasts, captivated by the powerful narratives that uncover life’s mysteries and moments of resilience. Whether she’s crafting a heartfelt tribute or exploring the unknown, storytelling remains at the core of who she is.
