Oliver, our English Cream Lab, joined us in 2022 as a playful eight-week-old fluffy puppy—and instantly brought warmth to our home. He’s calm, loyal, and always by our side, whether we’re out and about or relaxing at home.  

 

Trained at an award winning facility in Chandler, Arizona, Oliver’s obedience is spot-on. He walks expertly on a leash, retrieves with ease, and listens off-leash. But it’s his gentle spirit and steady presence that truly make him special.  

 

Oliver is more than our dog—he’s the heart of Best Furiend, Hand in Paw. As our mascot, he stands for the deep love between dogs and their humans.  

 

We created this book to help you honor your dog, just like we’re doing with Oliver.

Meet Christy Brimmer

The Heart Behind Best Furiend, Hand in Paw
 

Best Furiend, Hand in Paw  was created from a deep love for storytelling and the special bond between people and their dogs. Founder of Naked with Slippers Publishing, Author Christy Brimmer has crafted a book that celebrates the unique personalities and lasting memories of our beloved best furiends.  

 

Christy’s love for animals began in childhood with her Irish Setters, Murphy and Rusty, and her sheepdog-terrier mix, Pokey Jo. Later, Moody, a loyal Akita, became the first dog she raised on her own. Their bond inspired Christy to preserve the stories that make every dog unforgettable. Best Furiend, Hand in Paw became her way to keep Moody’s memory alive, and to help others do the same.  

 

Now living in Arizona with her daughter and me—Oliver!—Christy continues to write stories that honor life’s most meaningful relationships. From her early days as a young writer, she’s been drawn to real-life storytelling, capturing emotions, milestones, and legacies that matter.  

 

Through Best Furiend, Hand in Paw, Christy hopes to help you share your dog’s story—so every moment and memory can be cherished furever.
